FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHO DO YOU WORK WITH?
I work with individuals ages 13 and up.

I do not work with couples or families.

DO YOU PROVIDE TELEHEALTH?

Yes!

WHAT IS TELEHEALTH?

Telehealth is also referred to as telemedicine or online counseling.

Telemedicine is the delivery of medical services using interactive technology. For mental health it is sometimes called tele mental health. We offer live counseling using private/secure video conferencing. We’ll provide you with a link to use each time. You may participate on your smart phone or computer. You can participate in counseling from the comfort of your own home or office, or even your car! Many insurance plans cover telemedicine services.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT ABOUT THE THERAPY PROCESS?
Therapy works differently for everyone.  We’ll personalize each session and treatment plan to offer the support you find helpful, and that fit your goals. In general, however, you may expect the following, in this order:

Introduction: To assess needs and goodness of fit and to build trust and rapport.

Assessment: We’ll talk about your challenges and strengths, what you’re going through, what you’ve tried before to cope (what has worked and not worked). Then we’ll figure out where you are and where you want to be.

Treatment Plan: Together we formulate a treatment plan. This is a roadmap to help you get where you want to be in life.

Intervention: Here is when we get to work. Depending where you are at upon each session, we’ll use tools to gain the skills and insights to make the positive changes you desire.  During this stage we check in with you often, to make sure we are on track, to identify what is or is not working, and to identify progress.

Termination/Closure: At this point you may identify that all goals and objectives have been met. When that happens, we’ll bring closure to therapy after identifying tools and resources that may offer continued support.
